High on my list of fabulous venues is the spectacular Cà d’Zan Mansion
on the Ringling Museum estate. 

If you are looking for a truly spectacular Sarasota wedding location, Cà d’Zan (old Italian for “House of John”) might be the answer for you. This Roaring Twenties waterfront mansion, situated on the water’s edge of the sixty-six acre Ringling Museum estate, resembles a Venetian Gothic Palace. Everything about it is extravagant and beautifully finished.

Built in 1926, Cà d’Zan was the winter home of John and Mable Ringling and was the epicenter of cultural life in Sarasota in the 20’s.  Lavish parties were held with orchestras serenading guests from the Ringling yacht to the fabulous terrace.

Complete with an unbelievable view of the sunset, Cà d’Zan embodies old world style in an out-of-this-world environment and is reminiscent of the wealth and opulence of a bygone era.

Over the years Cà d’Zan has captivated hundreds of thousands of guests with its splendor and history. The Cà d’Zan Terrace, an 8,000-square-foot verandah of variegated marble overlooking the water, with the Ringling Museum to the east and Sarasota Bay to the west, is a dramatic setting for the most elegant of weddings in Sarasota.

There are intricate terra cotta facades rich in detail, marble floors, carved wooden ceilings, stained glass skylights and doors, Spanish tiles, bronze door surrounds and crystal chandeliers. You will also find 17th century tapestries, furnishings, paintings, and beautifully restored fabrics.  This palatial home of the Circus King still has a spirit reflecting the Roaring Twenties and Mable Ringling herself.

I love to invite guests to wander through the magnificently restored rooms to the sound of strolling musicians.  It’s a nice touch and something your guests will remember always.

 The Terrace accommodates up to 250 guests for ceremonies and receptions. If you are planning a smaller, more intimate event, Mable’s Rose Garden accommodates up to 50 guests. Truly an attraction in itself the garden has more than 1,000 Rose plants and is a great spot for photo shoots.
